Release 25 is finally here, bringing exciting new features to JD Edwards! This latest update introduces significant enhancements to applications and tools, designed to streamline your business processes, boost efficiency, and drive digital transformation.

JD Edwards Release 25 introduces a suite of cutting-edge enterprise automation features designed to streamline workflows and drive operational excellence. From enhanced order-to-cash processes to sustainability tools and AI integration, Release 25 is a major progression. This innovation is delivered through Tools 9.2, which supports Applications 9.2 and is exclusively available for 64-bit Tools Foundation.

Here is a quick summary of these enhancements, broken down to understand how they benefit JD Edwards users and contribute to their ability to stay ahead of the curve.

Application Enhancements

Financials:

Organizations can now assign delinquency fees to the specific business unit associated with an invoice, providing greater flexibility in managing accounts receivable. Additionally, the expanded range of account IDs allows businesses to accommodate larger account histories and seamlessly integrate accounts from acquisitions or mergers. This enhances financial reporting accuracy and streamlines overall account management.

Sales:

JD Edwards Release 25 introduces powerful new enterprise automation capabilities for Order-to-Cash processes. By integrating with warehouse operations, organizations can now create tailored workflows that optimize task sequencing, enhance visibility into order status, and improve overall efficiency. This increased control and transparency enable businesses to streamline order fulfillment, reduce errors, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) more effectively.

Additionally, the new process model template provides a flexible framework for building customized workflows that align with specific business needs.

Procurement Enhancements:

There are significant enhancements to enterprise automation for Procure-to-Pay processes, integrated with warehouse operations. This new functionality empowers organizations to improve their procure-to-pay operations through integrated automation and data-driven insights. By providing visibility into the warehouse putaway process within the procure-to-pay workflow, businesses can optimize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory levels.

Key performance indicators such as putaway cycle time, accuracy, and location utilization are now available as new charts to support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the Procure-to-Pay process model template enables organizations to generate customized process flows that align with their specific business rules and real-time data, further enhancing operational efficiency and visibility.

Warehouse Management:

JD Edwards Release 25 introduces enhancements to the License Plate Workbench within Warehouse Management. These updates focus on improving usability and functionality, providing users with greater visibility and control over license plate information. New features include the ability to view date and time details, search and filter records by date, and access additional applications for efficient management of license plates for loose items.

ESG:

A new Sustainability Framework is introduced that simplifies the collection and management of environmental data. This framework enables organizations to capture fuel usage data from stationary combustion sources (Scope 1) directly within JD Edwards transactions, such as Voucher Match and Standard Voucher. By streamlining data collection and providing a centralized repository known as the Sustainability Activity Ledger, the framework supports organizations in achieving their environmental goals. Additionally, the ability to integrate with external carbon calculation and reporting tools offers a comprehensive solution for organizations seeking to implement more sustainable business practices.

Tool Enhancements

Digital Transformation:

JD Edwards Release 25 introduces significant enhancements to the Enterprise Process Modeler, empowering organizations to design, monitor, and measure critical business processes more effectively. Key improvements include the ability to return system values in orchestration outputs and assertions, call orchestrations from form and row exits, leverage lists of criteria variables in orchestration rules, and incorporate text and images onto EnterpriseOne pages. Additionally, the enhanced Data Access Driver enables businesses to connect to multiple environments and create unified data models for comprehensive analysis. These advancements collectively strengthen the EnterpriseOne extensibility framework and provide organizations with greater flexibility and control over their business operations.

System Administration:

The additional features in the System Administration tools ensure streamlining of various administrative tasks and improve overall efficiency. Key improvements include the integration of Performance Workbench functionality within Server Manager, enabling administrators to analyze log files more effectively. Additionally, the introduction of a new developer user group in Server Manager provides enhanced access and control over log files and system configuration. The development client has been simplified by removing the local web server, reducing resource requirements and administrative overhead. JD Edwards Update Manager now offers additional capabilities, including the ability to create custom multi-platform packages, apply updates through the web client interface, and reset merges as needed. Finally, optimized full-package build performance helps administrators reduce build times by identifying and building only the necessary components.

Additionally, package build now includes a description in the iSeries library name, making it easier to identify package libraries. The output PDF report now includes the JDENET port number for each server, eliminating the need for manual correlation. Additionally, Oracle provides an example orchestration for automating object life-cycle deployment, offering flexibility for administrators. The Package Assembly application has been enhanced to automatically populate the default parent package when defining update packages, saving time and reducing errors. User Defined Objects can now be renamed and changed at any time, providing greater flexibility in managing UDOs. Finally, customers can now view media objects in real time without the need for a UBE transfer, enabling more efficient access to stored media.

Security:

JD Edwards Release 25 introduces a new Content Security Policy feature that enhances security by allowing administrators to explicitly define trusted domains and attributes. This helps prevent the integration of potentially harmful content from untrusted sources, ensuring a more secure EnterpriseOne user experience.

Platform:

The new advancements on the platform are designed to streamline deployment and configuration processes. One-Click Provisioning now supports centralized configuration and web servers for development clients, providing greater flexibility and ease of use. Additionally, the release includes platform certifications for Oracle Analytics Server 24, Microsoft Windows SDK 10.0.22621, IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0.5.20, IBM Open XL C/C++ 17.1.1 for AIX, Microsoft Edge Chromium 128, and Google Chrome 128, ensuring compatibility and support for the latest technology components. These enhancements contribute to a more robust and well-supported JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment.
